16-Year-Old Boy Celebrates Second Album Release
Hi. I’m George Allen, I live in Llanfyllin and I’m 16. I have always loved music and at around seven I learnt to play the trumpet, and when I say I learnt… – Maybe it wasn’t the instrument for me. Whilst in a music lesson at around the same age, I heard Mrs. Owen playing Welsh hymns in the hall, on the piano. I distinctly remember the ethereal sound and the way she commanded the magic box, I loved how she looked producing melodies effortlessly on the keys. I felt so serene and happy and absorbed. It was no surprise that the next day I ‘dropped’ my trumpet and asked my parents for piano lessons. My Dad began scouring the internet for a decent secondhand keyboard, and I haven’t looked back since.
I have now upgraded my kit and added recording equipment. In April 2025 I released my First Album “Extrication” under the name Frederick Age. A small yet steady start, I may say. This includes 3 instrumental tracks inspired by an artist called Ludovico Einaudi. The motivation behind the next release took a little while I must admit with a few failed attempts left at a recording studio. My next release dropped on the 27th of January 2026. This time, a piano and string ensemble single named ‘Fur Mama’. Following closely behind, I produced my first independent track which is an adventurous blend of synths, strings and rhythmic piano. One which was born out of listening to the Avatar soundtrack. This is called “Tales of Fantasy” and was released at the end of February.
The latest release is a six-track EP scheduled for the 10th of April. These tracks were written in my mind, for a film, I think they have a very cinematic feel to them. If anyone is creating a short film or needs some ambient music, then I would love to hear from you. None of this would have been possible without the amazing support of the ALN department and all the staff at Ysgol Llanfyllin, giving up their time to accompany me in the theatre to play, the care and guidance of Mr. Huw Davies, my piano teacher, the expertise of Jim Williams at Wow and Flutter Recording Studios and my wonderful uncle David Goodman for the artistic element of my album covers.
