The book launch and Tea at the Tree held at the top of Greenhall Hill on Good Friday was a big success with over 80 people making the walk up the hill.
Those attending were rewarded with delicious cake donated by the baker, Prosecco donated by the Cain, Spar and Danby’s, Bucks Fizz and fantastic sunshine. Many colourful ribbons were tied to the tree bearing wishes and messages during the afternoon.
The 48-page book full of photos, poems, remembrances and stories about the tree was well received, with well over a hundred copies sold. The book is now on sale at the Corner Shop, Llanfyllin for £5.99.
Thanks to all who helped organise a great Easter treat and to the Mayor Ann Williams for her short address. There has been talk of repeating the event next Good Friday – maybe planting an understudy tree next to Lonely Tree depending on how it fares over the next twelve months.
