On Saturday 15th November at Theatr Llwyn, Llanfyllin, Arts Connection – Cyswllt Celf played host to a range of films and film makers of all ages. The festival started with a screening of Ten Pieces which was followed on by a workshop with Blue MacAskill and Sharon Calder who used movement and visual arts to respond to the film. A range of short films were screened including the premiere of I Love Film, made by a group of adults with learning disabilities. 9 short films, made by all ages and abilities, were screened as part of the Ffilmic Take 8 film challenge where entrants had just 10 days to make a 5 minute film. These were screened to a warm and appreciative audience, proving what a hit all the films were! After the films were screened, Martin Cavalot, Arts Connection chair handed out prizes ranging from Best script to Best edit. Best Film awards were also given to the best film in each age category. Afterwards there was a screening of The General, with live piano accompaniment by Cyrus Gabrysch which was a great finish to a fantastic day!
All the films are available to view at:
The film challenge awards were kindly sponsored by Lake Vyrnwy Hotel, to whom we are very grateful.
