Llanfyllin has a wonderful church clock. The great blue and gold clock face is nearly eight feet across and it calls out the time on the old church bells. The quarters ring ting-tang on bells 2 and 4 (notes E flat and C) and the hour sounds a deep echoing A flat on the great tenor bell – as it has since 1714.
For the last few months, though, the clock has been silent. The mechanism needs repairing and funds are low. We need £600 to put things right. The Corner Shop is collecting the money on behalf of the town and every penny will help. Llanfyllin needs its clock so
